Paris Hilton to Visit Rwanda
Paris Hilton announced Tuesday that she will visit the African country of Rwanda this fall as a part of her commitment to use her celebrity status to highlight global causes. Hilton said: “There’s so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help.”
Hilton was invited to Rwanda first by Scott Lazerson of Playing for God, an organization that helps celebrities become involved in charities. Paris Hilton also said that her trip to Rwanda won’t be her last visit to other countries on her post-prison goodwill tour. The country of Rwanda was the scene of a 1994 genocide which saw the slaughter of thousands of Tutsis, and permanently disrupted the lives of thousands more families.
