Paris Hilton was released from a Los Angeles County jail early Thursday because of an unspecified medical problem and will fulfill the remainder of her sentence for probation violation in home confinement, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

The 26-year-old hotel heiress was sent home shortly after 2 a.m. wearing an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

Hilton was sentenced to 45 days for violating her probation in a reckless driving case, but had been expected to serve 23 days in jail because of state rules allowing shorter sentences for good behavior. She ended up just spending three full days at the all-women’s facility in Lynwood, but because she checked in late Sunday and left early Thursday, authorities credited her with five days of time served. She’ll be confined to her Hollywood Hills home for 40 days.

“I can’t specifically talk about the medical situation other than to say that yes, it played a part in this,” Whitmore said. Hutton didn’t immediately return calls seeking comment Thursday. Nor did her publicist, Elliot Mintz. Whitmore refused to answer questions from reporters when asked if the medical condition was physical or psychological. He said it was not a staph infection. The jail provided Hilton with a pamphlet on the skin infection when she checked in.

The conditions of Hilton’s home confinement were not immediately disclosed. Whitmore referred all questions to the L.A. County Probation Department. Messages left for the person handling media calls weren’t immediately returned.

The LA probation department needs to be revamped if they allowed this travesty to happen. Paris just made a joke out of a system that the working class people believe in, but this just reestablished to working America that if you have money you can get out of anything and won’t be penalized for it but believe me we haven’t seen the last of Ms. Hilton . LET THE INMATES GO WHO HAVE THE SAME OFFENSES AS MS. HILTON FAIR IS FAIR..WHAT A WASTE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY. Everyone in LaPd need to be fired for this injustice.

I find this whole saga sad and embarrasing. Why is it that she hasn’t grown up enough to have a REAL life? Someone with her position in life should have been taught at least some morals, compassion, and responsibility. Shame on her parents and/or nannies for not raising her to be an adult. Shame on Paris for not growing up and being a parasite on the world. I hope the nations parents learn something from this, and teach their children something about personal responsibility, and common decency. things that apparently money can’t buy.

  5. s ritchie says:

She is a spoiled rotten brat. She drove drunk. Then drove recklessly. Then broke her probation and after 4 days the muffin can’t hack it and has to awwwwwwwwww spend 40 days in her mansion.
    Total, utter, BS.

  6. BJ says:

what a shame. the system is suppose to be equal for all. this may just open up a can of worms. no one is going to feel like they should obey the law. we have enough problems with kids drinking and driving as it is.

  7. VIRGINIA says:

What a Shame that if you don’t have the money that the Hilton’s have, you would have to serve your time. What will her parents or the ones that got her out of this think when she kills someone or she herself dies from her defiant attitude and disregard for the law? SHAME ON OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM

  8. Joe Murphy says:

When is law going to start treating the Rich as equal as anybody else that has broken the law? I think unfair treatment should be outlawed.

Nice job, Paris, how did you pull this one off??? You belong behind bars to serve your sentence like any other criminal does. I’m disgusted with our judicial system in letting you leave. Get a dang doctor in your cell if you need medical attention

I was threatened with jail time just because my boxer got out of the yard and was standing in front of our house. I was harassed and treated like a criminal for that- a flashlight held right in my face- and I was obviously about to have a baby. But, of course- I AM POOR!

  14. What a pity, special treatment for a Rich Brat, again money buys all , especially in California. At true disgrace, liberals astick again.

I dont beleive our court systems. If you ask me its a joke and these stars like to make our judges and everyone look really stupid. If it had been anyone else they would have been told to bad deal with it. Just goes to show that money can get your get out of free card no matter what. once again the USA is only for the ones with money to get away with anything.

  18. Matthew says:

  19. denise says:

I’m completely disgusted that this blonde little tramp can get out of her jail sentence! Oh poor baby has been traumatized. Awe poor baby has a health problem or mental problems. So do half of the women in there!! What makes her so special? She’s not! She would be nothing if it weren’t from her family building the Hilton Empire. NOTHING! She is a spoiled rotten nasty b***h. This just proves everything that people with money can get away with anything they damn well please! I don’t know what else to even say. I am just too disgusted

  25. Donald Cochran says:

Paris should do her time as all other criminals. That is the lesson she should teach.

  26. Richard Horbelt says:

What an example you are seting for other rich Bitches. Aboce the law because you were born with money. HOW sad.

  27. Em says:

Any more news about this? Is she OK?

  28. pissed off says:

Such bull shit once again a celebrity gets away with breaking the law. Anyone else who had a “cold” would still be in jail. This just shows what a weak person Paris Hilton really is, that she can not even take the weak punishment she was given. The sheriff should be fired for giving her special treatment and basically going over the judges head by releasing her. I think she should have to do the 45 days in jail like everyone else would have to do.

  29. pissed off says:

Now they are saying it is a “mental” problem and not a cold either way it is BULL SHIT.

  30. eric says:

I think the SKANK should be sent to mens prison where she would be expected to have anal sex with the entire inmate population…wait a minute…that really wouldn’t be punishment for Paris, would it.

  31. eatshitanddie paris says:

Ahhh hahahaha!!!! She has to go back, you fools!! How could you support what a trashy bitch. She could have killed someone you morons, you all seem to keep forgeting that. Look at those photos of her in tears, HILARIOUS!!

  32. amee says:

    Now sees back

  33. Carol Brown says:

    Spoiled Brat!!!

  34. Heather says:

People need to leave Paris alone.. NOT just Paris, but no girl should be in jail for violation of her probation if she is a non-violent offender. I would not even want to be in jail all those days.. The judge needs to stop being an ass and let her off for time served and good behavior.. Jails are overcrowded as it is, and there are worse offenders that need law enforcement’s attentions. I hope Paris has learned her lesson.. Paris, U need to have faith and learn from this and keep your head up, act like a real girl instead of an airhead and maybe people would take you more serious and not want to see you locked up.. I think your hot… Good Luck..

  35. Daniel says:

What does she think?, that money can buy everything?, whit some tears is she going out of jail again? she must pay for what she’s done..!!!

  36. Jeni Grey says:

You are all just haetrs. Paris’s freedom is good for everyone. She need to be free for all the good work she does. Without her life our lives would eb darker.

  37. Scott Bentley says:

I think it is awesome that she was let out early. Its like none of your bussiness, so why don;t you leave her alone. I think was it is unfair is the way she is being treated. She should not have been sent back to jail.

  38. Kenya says:

I think Paris hilton sould contuine serive her sentence in jail. because if she was not famous or rich she would have when to jail anyway. Beside just because she has more money and have some fame. That doesn’t make her any better then any one esle. when is died she is either gone to be put in the ground or cream made just like everyone else. not to sound hardish but it ture. so i will say this i wish paris the best at what the judge sentence her to do. I also hope that she learn her lesson from what is has done. may god be with her and help her to make better desion.

  39. haha says:

if you have money you can get out of anything.
She is a spoiled rotten brat. And the comment by Heather, sounds like you should be her roommate, bitch. BOYCOTT HILTON HOTELS!
