Paris Cancels Billboard Appearance
Controversial hotel heiress Paris Hilton allegedly cancelled her appearance at the Billboard Music Awards because she did not like the jokes written for her, her spokesman said.
Elliot Mints said in a statement, “Paris did not want to say anything that could appear hurtful or embarrassing about people she knows.”
The script was sent to Hilton on Friday and it reportedly contained materials the “Simple Life” star found “objectionable.”
“It is my understanding that some satirical references ridiculed some of her peers,” Mintz said.
Representatives of both sides could not reach an agreement about the content of the script so Hilton decided to cancel her appearance, the spokesman adds.
The Billboard Awards were handed out Monday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
